چکیده

ABSTRACT The excess of salts in irrigation water restricts agricultural exploitation arid and semi-arid regions. Thus, searching for strategies cultivation under salt stress conditions is important the expansion irrigated agriculture these objective this study was to evaluate gas exchange growth rates naturally colored-fiber cotton genotypes with saline exogenous foliar application hydrogen peroxide concentrations. experiment carried out greenhouse conditions, Campina Grande - PB, using randomized block experimental design 4 × 3 2 factorial arrangement, four concentrations H2O2 (0, 25, 50, 75 µM), three CG (BRS Rubi; BRS Topázio; Verde) two levels electrical conductivity ECw (0.8 5.3 dS m-1), replicates. Irrigation m-1 associated 50 µM favors Rubi cotton, at 60 days after sowing. Salinity applications increased percentage cell damage internal CO2 concentration, but reduced stomatal conductance, transpiration, assimilation rate, Topázio cotton.

EVALUATING SALT TOLERANT COTTON GENOTYPES AT DIFFERENT LEVELS OF NaCl STRESS IN SOLUTION AND SOIL CULTURE

The study was carried out to compare generally used screening methods for salt tolerance: (i) a seedling-based, solution culture method, (ii) plant yield-based, soil method. The physiological and ionic analyses were used for comparisons of methodologies along with yield in soil based systems. The two methods were similar to each other by reproducing similar rankings for genotypes across the met...

Physiological and phytochemical changes induced by seed pretreatment with hydrogen peroxide in Artemisia sieberi under salt stress.

Seeds of medicinal plant Artemisia sieberi were pretreated with H2O2 (0, 10, 50, 90, and 140 µM) and grown in saline condition (0 and 150 mM NaCl) for one month. Phytochemical properties such as antioxidant capacity and also salt tolerance in the plans arising from H2O2 pretreated seeds under salt stress were examined. Results showed a decrease in H2O2 and malondialdehyde concentrations in the ...
